Hello, everyone!

I have been an EFL teacher for 30 years and have enjoyed every minute of a career that has spaned from 5th grade to college.

Since 1998 I have been committed to CALL and WELL: computer-assisted and Web-enhanced language learning. From email exchanges to task-based projects, custom-made interactive exercises and blogging, I've guided my students in broadening their horizons, learning English, and using new technologies and software hands-on. In the past two years I have found that young learners are very enthusiastic about these tools, and can achieve quite a lot in a short time through learning in a fun way!

I met your teacher, Dafne Gonzalez, when I joined the Webheads in in 2002 and we have collaborated very closely on different projects since then. We have also met f2f twice. I was very happy when she came up with this challenge!

So... it'll be a pleasure to talk briefly about a beautiful 7-year old bridge that is closely related to two major events in Portugal's recent past: the reconstruction process of the eastern end of Lisbon and Expo '98, the last World's Fair of the 20th century and millenium.

Barbara / Eiserner Bridge

Barbara Chap

Germany

barbara.chap@ettp.de

Born in Chicago, managed and owned her own financial planning firm in the United States. The last ten years have been spent here in Frankfurt where she has brought her financial, business, and management experience to her English language clients.

Barbara's unusual background of sociology/psychology and business knowledge coupled with a relaxed and appealing teaching style allows her to provide her students what they need to communicate effectively in English, whether they require English for general use, English for specific purposes, or business communication skills in English.

Live Presentation

Hello dear students

I'm happy and excited to be here. I’m from Nova Gorica, Slovenia. I have been teaching English at a small local college (Tehnični šolski center Nova Gorica) for the last 4 years. I started exploring technologies in teaching 2 years ago.

I look forward to talking with you about a special bridge from my hometown (photos taken by my student :-),nickname Pyrotech: http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=solkan+bridge. It was built around the turn of the century and is kind of famous for the largest stone arch in the world... People here like it a lot. It has a special place in our hearts.
