Oral Presentation on Bridges

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

These are the instructions for your online presentation. Read them carefully

 


 

Preparation Stage

 

Get together with 1 or 2 classmates and prepare a presentation about a bridge you like.

 

  1. Lenght of the presentation: 7- 10 minutes by participant
  2. Look for information about the bridge you want to talk about
  3. Take pictures of the bridge from different angles
  4. Take pictures of the context
  5. Think of a good title for your presentation
  6. Write a script for your presentation (say something for every picture),include the topics given in the next section.
  7. Write the name of the presenters at the end or beginning of the presentation.

c. Purpose of the bridge

d. Type of bridge

e. Materials

f. Technology involved in its construction

g. Designers

h. Advantages/disadvantages of the bridge for the specific community

  • For this project you will be using an application called VoiceThread. YOu need to register for free.

    In order to know how this application works, please go this link See an example at the top of the page.

    You will also enjoy the presentation about Wales given by Dennis Newson (Germany). Pay attention to the 2 bridges in the presentation.

  • Don´t forget to upload your picture to the platform.

 

NOTE: If VoiceThread does not work for you, use Splashcast. On Splascast you can embed, videos, audios (also record), pdf, word documents, web pages. You get the code to embed your presentation, and you can decide on the size of the screen for your presentation,too

 

  • Use Bluegrind to improve your pronunciation
  • Record your presentation
  • Post a link to your presentation in your wiki, on a page called: Oral Presentation, where you will also write the text of your presentation.
  • After the presentation, visit 2 or 3 of your classmates' work, and leave a message for them.
